Tokio Kumagai Homage
I remember seeing the work of Tokio Kumagai at a very young age, even before I knew I wanted to have a career in footwear design. Those shoes from the 1980s made of “food” truly shocked me, and they are a constant inspiration to this day. That is why I wanted to mix that memory and celebrate him with an ephemeral piece by me as tribute. A mule espadrile wedge sandal with an upper made of real ham (not fake as in his case), that has been destroyed and eaten right after taking the picture.
