The fluor and geometrical graphics I used to see as a child on pencil cases, backpacks, t-shirts, TV commercials, magazines ads, etc. always fascinated my because of their combinations of colors and shapes. It was not until I was much older and studied Design History that I learnt all these were a trickle down effect of postmodern image making in all fields of visual arts. This sandal is a tribute to all those “cheap” and “fast” versions of the postmodern style. It is 100% made by hand using UPCYCLED webbings and vynils, and the “prints” are made analogically as this was the way they were made in the 1980s before the tech revolution.
