Like a Virgin
Madonna debuted her hit “Like a Virgin” at the first ever MTv VMAs, which took place in New York City. Her look, styled by the legendary Maripol resembled a postmodern bride as she emerged from a wedding cake covered in white lace. She wore white stilettos to match and as she walked down the stairs, on of them fell off her foot, like a in a pop Cinderella story. That was the reason why she decided to perform lying and crawling on the stage’s floor, which led to her underwear showing, a moment everyone would remember.
This shoes are designed far too late for her to wear them on that 1984 night. Maybe if she had had lace stockings going over the whole shoe and pins attaching the stilettos to her flesh the shoe wouldn’t have slipped off.
