Dear Tourist

I was born and raised in the coast right next to Barcelona city. This area, its people, and my family rely on tourism every summer to mantain its prosperous economy and vibrant atmosphere. During this fatal year obviously no tourists have arrived and no souvenirs have been sold, which is why it came to my mind to make a tribute to everyone in this industry currently struggling. Inspired by Martin Parr’s kitsch aesthetic, an upcycled wedge covered in MAGNETIC paint serves as canvas for a plethora of ceramic magnets from local souvenir shops. A small contribution to their economy currently at its darkest hour.
